We have teamed up with Mike Stokes Motoring and MotorSport and Bournemouth and Poole Road Safety Teams to tell you how to stay safe on the roads this winter.
Before making any journey make sure your tyres are legal and have enough air pressure in them.
Make sure your car has anti-freeze and screenwash.
If making a long journey, carry a blanket, flask, torch and warm clothes.
Make sure your battery is fully charged.
In wet and icy conditions make sure you keep your distance from the vehicle in front of you.
Give yourself more time than usual to get to your destination.
Ensure all lights are working properly, including fog lights.
Check water, oil and fuel before starting off on a long journey.
Keep the kids occupied on a long journey to avoid distraction.
Be patient with fellow drivers at this time of year.
If you can't see out of your back window, you cannot see what is behind you.
